Phil & Pat's Web Home Page
This is the personal web home of composer/oboist/teacher Dr. Patricia Morehead and pianist, conductor, vocal coach, and editor Philip Morehead.
Phil worked the last three summers at the Highlands Opera Studio in Haliburton, Ontario, which is an operatic apprentice program founded and overseen by world-renowned tenor Richard Margison and his multi-talented wife Valerie Kuinka, stage director and violist. He will again work with them in August 2019, conducting their summer production of Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos. Phil is a member of the Muskoka Big Band and the Loft Singers in Huntsville. In the Spring of last year he conducted Puccini's Tosca for Soirées lyriques in Elgin, Illinois. He has also begun to revisit the bassoon, which he studied 50 years ago with John Miller in Boston. He plays with the Highlands Chamber Orchestra in Haliburton, Ontario and sits in on rehearsals of the North Bay Symphony.
Pat has a number of projects underway, including an upcoming performance of her Cityscape for orchestra by the Highlands Chamber Orchestra and a new commission for a work for the North Bay Symphony. She is busy with her activities on behalf of the Canadian Music Centre, of which she is an Associate Composer and representative for Northern Ontario.
